Overview

Since 2023/24 school year, the speaker has participated in the 'Mainland-Hong Kong Teachers Exchange & Collaboration Programme'. Together with principals and teachers in Hong Kong kindergartens, we have conducted educational research on ‘Chinese Culture Picture Book Reading Curriculum’, developing good practices of learning and teaching and achieving outcomes as follows:
1. Fine Traditional Chinese Culture—The Root and Soul of the Chinese
2. Education of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture—The Lifeblood of Cultural Heritage
3. Revival of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture—Strengthening Confidence in Chinese Culture
4. Paths and Strategies for Implementing the Fine Traditional Chinese Culture Curriculum in Hong Kong Kindergartens
5. The Effectiveness and Prospects of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture Education in Hong Kong Kindergartens

The educational research has constructed the design and implementation plan for the Chinese Culture Picture Book Reading Curriculum in Hong Kong kindergartens. It has clarified the design rationale of the Curriculum and established appropriate curriculum objectives, content, implementation, evaluation, and other curriculum elements. In addition, it has proposed specific practical teaching strategies, recommended good Chinese culture picture books for children's reading, and provided a practical guidance for implementing Chinese Culture Education in Hong Kong kindergartens.

Participants of this seminar will:
1. enhance understanding of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture and national identity;
2. learn effective methods and strategies for guiding children in learning Chinese culture; and
3. gain insight into specific catalogs and methods for selecting high-quality Chinese culture books for children
