Overview

The open lesson aims to align with the new primary school science curriculum and integrate engineering education into it. The speaker will focus on introducing the applications of 'forward engineering' and 'reverse engineering' in engineering education, and share how to effectively integrate these two ways of thinking in curriculum design to improve students' learning outcomes in engineering. The speaker will apply the Sweetie teaching theory advocated by Dr Wan Zhihong, combined with actual classroom experience, to propose the concept of a 'reverse-reverse-forward' curriculum structure. This innovative teaching method aims to comprehensively enhance students' engineering thinking abilities and practical skills. 

This open lesson will showcase the successful integration of 'orward engineering' and 'reverse engineering' into the primary school science curriculum. Through the application of the Sweetie teaching theory and the 'reverse-reverse-forward' curriculum structure, students have developed innovative capabilities and critical thinking skills while solving practical problems. Classroom data indicates that students' understanding of engineering concepts and their ability to apply this knowledge have significantly improved. They are now better able to define problems and propose practical solutions by leveraging their engineering knowledge. 

Participants of this open lesson will understand:
1.Practical Application of Innovative Teaching Methods: Participants will learn how to effectively integrate 'forward engineering' and 'reverse engineering' thinking into the primary school science curriculum. Through the application of the Sweetie teaching theory and the 'reverse-reverse-forward' curriculum structure, they will understand how to enhance students' learning outcomes in engineering; and

2.Inspiration from Practical Teaching Strategies: Participants will gain specific teaching strategies and classroom design ideas. These strategies and designs are not only applicable to engineering education but can also be flexibly applied to other subjects, thereby improving overall teaching quality and enhancing students' learning experience.
