Sustainability-oriented Innovation and Design Education: Ignition of Design Spirit

Overview

The seminar will showcase how to be a facilitator to sustainably motivate and educate students to be creative and able to design any innovative product in order to foster social awareness, creativity, problem solving and entrepreneurship in learning. The speaker will investigate different student design competition projects including Hong Kong science fair 2023/24, 2022/23 and an architecture competition project as examples to demonstrate the role of teacher in a student design team.　

Participants of this seminar will understand:
1. a way to arouse student's interest to be a creative learner;
2. how to be a facilitator in project group;
3. the transformation of knowledge from humanities in innovative design; and
4. fostering design education and STEAM education in local school and its importance.
