Enhancing Students’ Financial Literacy with Extended Learning Activities and Resources

Overview

The IFEC is a public organisation and a subsidiary of the Securities and Futures Commission, dedicated to improving investor and financial education in Hong Kong. The IFEC is supported by the four financial regulators and Education Bureau.

The IFEC delivers free and impartial investor and financial education resources and programmes for schools through its education platform, The Chin Family. The IFEC FinEd Hub opened in 2024 offers innovative digital experiential learning experiences for schoolchildren.

The seminar provides insights on using available resources as extended learning activities for strengthening financial education, enhancing students’ financial literacy and long-term financial well-being.

The investor and financial education resources and programmes offered by the IFEC provide students the opportunities to apply their knowledge and achieve tangible results. The IFEC FinEd Hub offers customised journeys for students to develop their financial competencies at different key learning stages through gamification.

Participants of this seminar will:
1.understand how to deliver enriched learning experiences for their students, with the goal of elevating financial literacy and promoting financial well-being.
2. recognise the free and impartial investor and financial education resources and programmes available for designing school-based teaching materials and activities.
