Learning National Diplomacy Principles in the Classroom

Overview

The seminar will mainly focus on the speaker’s experience in teaching the topic of 'National Foreign Policy' in the classroom, and share how to bring topic intended to classroom so as to enable students to understand the topic, and adopted what they have learnt in improving their interpersonal relationships and daily lives.

This class uses a lot of materials that appear in TV series or movies for as leads, so that students can understand the historical background and international issues more easily and interestingly.

Through multimedia, discussions, and role-playing, students can learn about international diplomatic relations, which is similar to the interpersonal relationships that students face every day. They can also understand the diplomatic knowledge learnt in the classroom.

Participants of this seminar will understand:
1. how to transit 'knowledge' to 'affection' in a civics-related classroom; and
2. promotion of undergraduate courses in Hong Kong.
