Overview

Children with twice / dual-exceptional (2e) have giftedness or strengths (e.g., intelligence, language skills, mathematics capacity, creativity, motor skills, interpersonal skills, leadership, etc.), but they also have special needs. It is estimated that about 30% of kindergarten students have 2e.

This seminar will include case studies to explain strengths-based approach to parent education. The objective is that students with 2e can get the most appropriate home-school support.

Framework of seminar:
1. 2e behavior characteristics;
2. Implementation of the strength-based approach to pre-school parent education; 3. Enhancing home-school collaboration; and
4. Practical strategies of emotional management.

Participants of this seminar will:
1. enhance the critical expertise of pre-school positive education for students with 2e and autism;
2. attain the expertise of inclusive education;
3. enhance understanding about 2e behavior characteristics; and
4. provide appropriate pre-school parent education.
